It was a double setback for Iowa Thursday as both the Hawkeye men’s and women’s basketball teams lost in Big 10 action.
Travis Trice scored 25 points and hit seven 3-pointers and Michigan State rallied to pound Iowa 75-61 on Thursday night, its ninth straight win over the Hawkeyes.Gabe Olaseni tied a career high with 18 points for the Hawkeyes (11-5, 2-1), who were outscored 47-22 in the second half.
Chatrice White scored 22 points, Brittany Carter added 19 and Illinois upset the No. 17 Iowa women 73-61 on Thursday night. Iowa (11-3, 2-1) led 35-21 late in the first, but Illinois scored the final nine points to make it 35-30 at halftime.
