If you are upset with the choices for President this year, and are tempted to write in another name, South Dakota Secretary of State Shantel Krebs has some advice…….

Krebs says a write in is considered the same as leaving a line blank……

Krebs says adding a write in to the ballot will not cause a problem for the scanner that will read the document…..

Krebs says if you don’t like any candidates for a particular office, it is better to leave that line blank.
Write in names are allowed, with some restrictions, in Nebraska, Iowa and Minnesota.
