Doane’s women and men swept team titles at the 2015 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.
Concordia was the host the GPAC Indoor Champioonships for the first time in school history. The two-day event is took place at the Walz Human Performance Complex on campus in Seward.
The Tiger women scored 229 points, while the Doane men tallied 177 points in winning the GPAC Championship.
Neeia Cooperwood from Morningside was the female outstanding athlete of the meet, while Rusty Muncy from Briar Cliff earned male outstanding athlete honors. Cooperwood scored 41 points, while Muncy talled 30.50 on the day.
There were ten meet records set on the day at Concordia’s Walz Human Performace Complex:

2. Daniel Aldaba, Midland – 5000 meters (15:00.62)
3. Augustus Cowan, Briar Cliff – Triple Jump (15.7 meters)
4. Kale Wolken, Doane – Heptathlon (5307 pts)
5. Neeia Cooperwood, Morningside – 200 meters (24.75)
6. Sarah Kottwitz, Doane – 800 meters (2:17.05)
7. Marissa DeWispelare, Doane – 3000 meters (10:16.72)
8. Hastings Men’s 4×400 Meter Relay (3:19.82)
9. Concordia Women’s 4×400 Meter Relay (3:59.26)
10. Concordia Women’s 4×800 Meter Relay (9:29.84)
The outstanding performances of the meet and coach of the year honors will be announced next week.
