The State of South Dakota got about one point two billion dollars from Congress as part of the CARES act passed to blunt the impacts of the staggering economy.

Governor Kristi Noem says the state will not be spending all that money….

Noem says she hopes some of the federal dollars can be held to meet future needs…..

Noem says unless there are drastic changes, she doesn’t anticipate a special session of the legislature next month…..

The state saw tax revenues drop about thirty million dollars under estimates in April, but some cities saw taxes go up in the last month.
