The 2015 World Archery Youth Championship will be held in Yankton this summer, and 53 different countries will be visiting South Dakota for the event. To prepare for the cultural diversity that will be affecting the community and its businesses, the Multi-Cultural Center of Sioux Falls conducted a two day diversity training. Christy Nicolaisen is the Center’s Executive Director and says the first session focused on religion and health. The second was centered around retail.

She says that the training also included how to work with people with limited English, different sleeping habits for hotels, and the different food preferences. Greetings were also a topic of discussion.

Nicolaisen says the Yankton Chamber of Commerce has printed a brief summary of the training on cards to distribute to employees and anyone interested.
