The next step in development of an aquatic center in Yankton will be up to the City Commission.

The volunteer group “Dive In Yankton” made their presentation to the commission Monday night.

Spokesman Josh Svatos (swa-toes) says it is time to replace the seventy year old Memorial Park pool…

Commissioner Jake Hoffner says he supports what the group is doing….

City Manager Amy Leon says they are projecting a possible twelve-million-dollar bond issue to finance the majority of the fourteen-million-dollar cost.

She recommended the commission come back at their next meeting….

“Dive In Yankton” has pledged to raise one million dollars as part of the funding package.
