There is a spirited race for the District 16 Senate seat in southeast South Dakota. Democrat Ann Tornberg of Beresford is challenging incumbent republican Senator Dan Lederman of Dakota Dunes.

Education funding and teacher shortages will be big issues in the 2015 legislature.
