A traffic safety report finds distracted driving is the number-one cause of teen driver crashes while teen passengers are the number-one distraction for those drivers. Rose White, at Triple-A-Nebraska, says precautions need to be taken.
White says a study found in a large percentage of the fatal crashes involving teens in Nebraska, the teens were not wearing their seat belts.
The report finds teen drivers are one-point-six times more likely to be involved in crashes than adults. White says parents should constantly remind their teen drivers about keeping their focus on the road.
