Difference of Opinion Over Redistricting Maps

The House and Senate redistricting committees of the South Dakota legislature have gone their separate ways over the same issue.

Committee member, Representative Ryan Cwach of Yankton, says dividing up the area around Sioux Falls is the major problem….

Cwach says the divide seems to be over numbers in a district rather than where the lines should be drawn….

Cwach says the focus should be on cohesive districts rather than the perfect number….

The committees will be on the road next week, holding public hearings in Box Elder, Mission, Mobridge, Aberdeen, Watertown and Sioux Falls.
