The Dietary Guidelines released this week were a huge win for America’s beef industry. After the protein sector was essentially left out of the draft guidelines, USDA and HHS included lean meat as an important part of a healthy diet. NCBA Vice President of Government Affairs Colin Woodall commends the agencies for following sound science.
He says the beef industry made sure the Cabinet Secretaries understood what needed to be included and excluded from the guidelines.
Woodall says the Dietary Guidelines reflect the nutritional value of lean beef as part of a healthy lifestyle.
