The Nebraska legislature is working on a bill that would change the way agricultural land is assessed for property tax purposes. Cedar County Assessor Donald Hoesing says any changes enacted In Lincoln will have little effect on overall tax bills, especially in rural counties…..
Hoesing says they don’t have many details yet on how the changes would be implemented……
Hoesing says that as long as the spending requests remain the same, land owners will likely end up paying about the same amount in property taxes…….
The property tax changes are attached to a bill proposed by Governor Pete Ricketts that would also reform income taxes.
