Track Clean Up Continues East of Kimball

Fourteen cars of a Dakota Southern train derailed east of Kimball on Saturday. Several of the loaded grain cars tipped over, causing damage to the rail and right of way.
Todd Yeaton, Chairman of the South Dakota Railroad Board, says it’s not totally unexpected…..

Yeaton says most short lines in the state have had some cars go off the track…..

Yeaton says it’s up to Dakota Southern to clean up the site, and rebuild the track…..

The track should be open by late this week. The MRC line was extended west to Presho last year.
