Denver Ends Coyote Season

.South Dakota scored 10 points in the final 12 minutes during a 71-55 loss to Denver in a Summit League Tournament quarterfinal contest at Sioux Falls Arena.

The Pioneers (16-14) advance to Monday night’s semifinal contest against top-seeded North Dakota State. The Coyotes’ season ends with a 12-18 record.

Brett Olson knocked down four three-pointers and scored a game-high 20 points to lead Denver. Bryant Rucker added 14 points and Jalen Love scored 12. The Pioneers shot 62 percent in the first half and led 38-32 at halftime. USD never got within five points the rest of the way.

Brandon Bos hit three 3’s in the game’s first six minutes and led South Dakota with 13 points. Trevor Gruis was 5 of 6 from the field and had 12 points. USD took 39 shots in a low-possession game with 18 makes.
