Potential legislative candidates in South Dakota have to get their paperwork into the Secretary of State’s Office by 5pm tomorrow (Tuesday) to get into the election cycle.
As of Friday, democrats have filed for ten of thirty five Senate seats and eighteen of seventy House seats.

Republicans as of Friday had twenty seven Senate filings and forty three for House seats. Those numbers will rapidly change today and tomorrow as more candidates get their paperwork in to Pierre.
