Former State Democratic Party Chairwoman Andy McGuire has announced her candidacy for Governor of Iowa in the 2018 election. McGuire says it’s important state government and elected officials communicate with farmers about what they need and want from their government.

She says if elected Governor she wants to keep growing and broadening the scope of the state’s renewable fuels industry.

McGuire says when it comes to improving the state’s water quality, everyone shares in that responsibility, not just farmers.

McGuire says as a medical doctor and a businessperson she brings a lot of knowledge to the position that will be beneficial in helping to run state government.
