Deere & Company and The Climate Corporation have signed agreements that will bring advanced connectivity and agronomic data management for farmers. Deere will acquire the Precision Planting equipment business from Climate and that will enable exclusive near real-time data connectivity between certain John Deere farm equipment and the Climate FieldViewTM platform.
Mike Stern, president of The Climate Corporation says this agreement will maximize the value of digital agriculture.
John Raines, Sr. Vice President of Agronomic Services with The Climate Corporation says this advanced platform will help farmers with data connectivity and provide solutions for simple and seamless collection of in-field agronomic data.
Central Illinois farmer Steve Moffett, says the connectivity will help improve the data collection and sharing on his farm through the Climate cloud. That will support the development of field prescriptions.
He says strategic use of information is an important factor in successful agriculture.
