The Lincoln County Commission will hold a second reading on proposed wind energy development guidelines on Tuesday.
The Planning Commission earlier approved a one mile setback for any new wind power projects.
Dakota Power Community Wind has proposed a one thousand megawatt wind farm in Lincoln County.
Supporters of the wind project say the proposed setbacks would effectively kill it.
Winnie Peterson, with the group “We-Care-SD” says they are not opposed to wind power…….

Peterson says they don’t believe the wind project can be built safely…..

Peterson says they want to make sure people have enough information to make a good decision…..

South Dakota is now number three in the nation in the percentage of power from the wind, but several recent projects have run into local opposition.
