The outbreak of dozens of tornadoes across the region earlier this month was very unusual and may be signs of what is ahead.

Doug Kluck, Climate Services Director for the Central Region of the National Weather Service (in Kansas City) says storms like that may be connected to a changing climate….

Kluck says they have been seeing other changes to the traditional storm track….

Kluck says conditions to create tornadoes in December are very hard to bring together…..

The storms of December 15th and 16th developed forty-three documented tornadoes in Iowa, eighteen in Nebraska and six in Minnesota.
