Deadline Approaching for Farm Program Signup

The deadline for producers to sign up for the Price Loss Coverage or Agriculture Risk Coverage Program is March 15.  Bobbie Kriz-Wickham with the Nebraska Farm Service Agency says with high crop insurance guarantees and high prices farmers may not think they need to sign up for the safety net program.

Plus she says while prices are high there is still a lot of uncertainty about the lingering drought in the region.

Kriz-Wickham says farmers can change their election on an annual basis and they have tools to help them evaluate that decision.

She says general CRP signup also closes on March 11.
