Davison County South Dakota pork producer Brad Greenway who serves on the National Pork Board has been chosen as the 2014 Governor’s Ag Ambassador Award winner. He’ll be formally recognized June 27 at the annual South Dakota Governor’s Agricultural Summit in Deadwood. Greenway says he was completely surprised when notified of receiving the honor.
Greenway says his motto has always been “I am proud of what I do on my farm and if I can’t be transparent about it, I shouldn’t be doing it.’’ He says he took that motto and that transparency when he went through the National Pork Board’s Operation Mainstreet program. Greenway says that helped him bring ag’s message to the general public.
When he receives the award at the end of next month, Greenway will be the fourth recipient of the Governor’s Ag Ambassador Award.
