For the second week in a row, South Dakota State’s Mike Daum was named the Summit League’s Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office.
Daum averaged a double-double over two starts, putting up 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game alongside a 61.3 field goal percentage. He now has over 1,700 points for his career and sits fifth on the Jackrabbit scoring chart.
The Kimball, Nebraska native started the week with a 35-point, 14-rebound double-double against Drake on Dec. 19. He matched his career-high of 14 field goals and hit four 3-pointers in the game. It was the seventh 35-point, 10-plus rebound performance of his career, four more than any other Division I player since 2010-11.
Daum added 12 points and seven rebounds at Drake last Friday, going 5-for-7 from the field to help the Jacks reach 11 wins before Christmas for the first time in its Division I history.
He is a seven-time Player of the Week selection and earned the award for the fourth time this season.
