An error in the database reporting COVID-19 infections in South Dakota was a factor in a surge of cases showing up on the state Health Department website.
State Epidemiologist Dr Josh Clayton says the issue came up in the weekend reporting….

Clayton says the reporting error didn’t change their overall testing process…

Three hundred forty-three new cases were reported Thursday, the largest one day total since reporting began.
Clayton says that number was not the result of the data error…

The state is now reporting two thousand active cases of COVID-19, with one hundred sixty-two deaths.
