The South Dakota FFA Foundation has received a $65,000 donation from Energy Transfer Partners, builders of the Dakota Access Pipeline. Foundation Executive Director Gerri Eide says Energy Transfer officials contacted their group asking how they could help FFA members in the counties where the pipeline is being constructed.
She says some of the funding will go to FFA chapters located in those thirteen counties served by the pipeline.
Eide says the donation is welcome at a time when school districts are struggling with various budget challenges.
Eide says Energy Transfer Partners is also providing donations to FFA foundations in Iowa, Minnesota and North Dakota.
