Dakota Rural Action Working On Raw Milk Legislation

Dakota Rural Action is working with South Dakota state legislators to introduce a measure to increase the sale, use and consumption of raw milk.  D-R-A Lobbyist Sabrina King says present state rules have been out for a month and aren’t working. She says the intention of their legislation is to bring South Dakota up to speed with other states.

King says their proposed legislation calls for more outlets to sell raw milk even though it would lead to more state regulations.

She says State Senator Phil Jensen and State Representative Jacky Sly both of Rapid City are co sponsors of the bill and they’re hoping to have it out later this week.
