Opponents to the Dakota Power Community Wind Project, the WE CARE Group are disappointed with the Lincoln County South Dakota Commission decision this week to table the wind ordinance. WE CARE spokesperson Winnie Peterson says the key issues that need to be included in the wind ordinance center on setbacks and decibel levels.

She says the three quarter mile setback in the proposed ordinance is an improvement but her group still favors a one mile setback.

Peterson says there needs to be strong controls on wind project decibel levels as well as setbacks.

Peterson says her group will continue to weigh in on the wind ordinance as the process moves forward and will attend the next Commission meeting in February when the issue comes up again.
