The Thank a Farmer youth education program was featured at the first annual Dairyfest in Brookings, South Dakota on Saturday. Rhonda Ross is founder and President of the non-profit organization. She uses entertainment as a way to teach kids about the products that farmers produce that touch their lives daily.
She says she targets kids because they are an open book without biases, unlike adults…and because farming is not taught in school.
As a result she’s developed educational materials for teachers and three children’s books about fun farm facts. She also travels to schools to share her message.
