Late Last week House Ways and Means Chairman Paul Ryan said the U.S. should complete the Trans Pacific Partnership leaving out countries who think U.S. standards in the negotiations are too high. That would leave out Japan and Canada. Japan doesn’t want to bring their tariffs to zero like every other nation in the deal and Canada has duties on dairy products that are too high. South Dakota Dairy Producers Association President Marv Post says every nation needs to follow the same rules.
Post says TPA is an important agreement the U.S. needs to approve.
The TPP involves a total of 12 countries, many of them from the Pacific Rim and covers 40 percent of the world’s economy.
