Dairy President Advises Producers To Consider Enrolling In Margin Protection Program

Friday is the deadline at Farm Service Agency offices for dairy producers to sign up for this year’s revised Margin Protection Insurance Program. South Dakota Dairy Producers Association President Marv Post advises dairymen take a close look at this improved program and consider if it’s best for their operation.

He says the program looks beneficial for those smaller dairy producers and provides all who sign up and are eligible retroactive payments.

Post says if producers do the math, they’ll realize how the MPP benefits their operations. He says that’ll help them determine if they should sign up or not.

For more information and enrollment, dairy farmers are encouraged to contact their local Farm Service Agency office.
