Dairy Official Concerned Executive Order Could Hurt Reform Efforts

President Obama says a big reason he is taking executive action on immigration is because the US House has not acted. He addressed the nation on the issue Thursday night.
South Dakota Dairy Producers Executive Director Roger (shy-bee) Scheibe of Volga says that’ll likely lead to more friction between the new Congress and the President and could hamper future immigration reform legislative efforts.
Scheibe says the new Congress needs to get immigration legislation approved as soon as possible because the dairy industry and others need some certainty.
Scheibe says while produce farmers need seasonal workers that are in the U.S. legally, dairy operations need workers that are available year round.
