Dairy Negotiations Holding Up A Trans Pacific Partnership

Trans Pacific Partnership negotiators say they’re very close to reaching an agreement on the trade deal. The sticking points now seem to be dairy and automobiles. South Dakota Dairy Producers President, Marv Post says the dairy issue is a tough one to overcome with Canada, as their system is based on a quota system.

Post says finding a reasonable compromise, or even a solution, to the Canadian dairy problem won’t be easy.

Post says he hates to see one issue holding up the much needed free trade agreement.

The TPP deal involves 12 nations and comprises 40 percent of the world’s gross domestic product.
