The battle over Immigration reform continues. Late last week the House approved a measure to stop the President’s power of executive actions on immigration. Earlier Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack said those orders would have provided some help to the ag industry. He added that Congress needs to pass comprehensive reform. Minnesota Milk Producers President Pat Lunemann says that’s definitely needed for the whole economy.
Vilsack also said comprehensive immigration reform will reduce the budget deficit, shore up the Social Security System, provide border security and meet the needs of many industries. Lunemann agrees.
Lunemann says most economists believe the nation’s economy won’t operate as efficiently without Congress approving Immigration legislation.
