President Obama says he’s ready to follow through with executive action in order to pass immigration reform. House Speaker John Boehner says such action could be harmful in the process. South Dakota Dairy Producer Association President Marv Post says approving an executive action won’t provide the certainty dairy producers need in order to expand or move their operations forward.
Post says it’s way past time for the bickering to end and for all facets of government to work together in a bi-partisan way for the common good and do what’s right for the country.
Post says passing immigration legislation is important for the nation’s economy and is not just an agricultural issue. The Senate passed immigration legislation in 2013 but the House has yet to act this year.
