Joel Lanning has gone from being a starting quarterback at Iowa State to chasing quarterbacks as a linebacker.

The 6-foot-2 senior started 14 games at quarterback the last two years, but is now listed a starting linebacker.

He made the switch during the spring. Former transfer Jacob Park became the primary quarterback the second half of last season for the Cyclones and now is the starter.
