Cuba and the United States re-established diplomatic relations with the opening of embassies in each country. National Farmers Union’s Senior Vice President of Programs, Chandler Goule says he is hoping it will lead to the repealing of the trade embargo.

Goule says there are several different U.S. commodities that Cuba is interested in and a lot of opportunity for our ag producers.

He says with the re-establishing of diplomatic relations, it should be just a matter of months before the embargo is lifted and goods are flowing freely between the two countries.

Goule says there are also several value added and processed food items that can easily be traded with Cuba.
