CRP Rental Payments Go Out

Conservation Reserve Program rental payments went out the end of last month with $1.7 million distributed nationally. South Dakota State Farm Service Agency CRP Manager Owen Fagerhaug says there are close to a million CRP acres in South Dakota in the conservation program.

He says there will be some challenges to overcome for the new CRP enrollments.

Fagerhaug says while the rental payments are appreciated during a time of low commodity prices, they are valuable every year they go out.

He says they still have the continuous CRP sign up underway. That started October 1, 2016 and runs until September 30 of 2017.
