Many farmers now have a way to learn more about how they might exclude a really bad yield year from their production history and be able to have more crop insurance coverage as a result. USDA Risk Management Agency Administrator Brandon Willis talks about how counties qualify for Average Production History yield exclusions.
He says these exclusions are a real benefit for farmers and they can find out more about Actual Production History Yield Exclusions on the USDA website.
Willis says about 75-percent of spring crops covered by crop insurance will be covered by the APH Yield Exclusion in crop year 2015. They include corn, soybeans, wheat, sunflowers and other crops not grown in the region.
