Crop Insurance Deadline Looms

Time is running out for farmers across the country to buy crop insurance on spring planted crops. Thursday, March 15th is the deadline to purchase policies for spring planted crops. National Crop Insurance Services President Tom Zacharias says farmers need to act now if they haven’t already.

He says its important for farmers to talk with their crop insurance agent about coverage changes and options.

Changes made include those in the Gross Margin Livestock Revenue protection, Prevented Planting options, and moving the conservation compliance date to August.

The spring price guarantee for corn is $3.96, soybeans is $10.16, and spring wheat at $6.31.
