The 2016 South Dakota Leopold Conservation Award winner is the Cronin Farm of Gettysburg. Monty Cronin says 24 years ago he and his family fully converted their operation to no-till farming.

He says they also utilize rotational grazing with their Black Angus cattle herd and grow cover crops.

Cronin says since they went to rotational grazing it’s really paid off for their operation.

In addition to their angus herd the Cronin family raises corn, spring and winter wheat, sunflowers, soybeans, flax, field peas and lentils.
