The Conservation Stewardship Program enrollment deadline is May 10 for 2019 fiscal-year funding. South Dakota NRCS CSP Coordinator Jessica Michalski says some of the changes to the CSP program include larger payments for practices like planting cover crops and high residue crops.
She says the popularity of CSP has been growing in South Dakota and the state now leads the nation in CSP enrollment.
Michalski says CSP is a great program because it rewards farmers for practices most of them are already utilizing on their operations.
Michalski advises those interested in the CSP program to sign up as soon as possible at their county NRCS office.
