The Coalition for a Prosperous America is praising a new Senate resolution calling on Americans to buy domestically produced goods. One of the resolution’s co-sponsors is South Dakota’s Mike Rounds. CPA Chief Economist Jeff Ferry says if Senators follow through with this and get some follow up legislation passed, that will help the nation’s economy.

He says there are several possible legislative avenues for following up with this resolution and achieving the goal of getting more American produced goods purchased going forward.

Ferry says it’s going to take time for the U.S. economy and agriculture to see recovery from the impacts of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Ferry says what the nation needs now is a robust industrial strategy to restore production of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, semi conductors, and many other critical industries.
