The North American Free Trade Agreement Renegotiation talks get underway Wednesday. Coalition for a Prosperous America members are hoping that U.S. negotiators are able to address trade deficit problems. CPA CEO Michael Stumo says the big problem is the U.S. dollars is about 25 percent too high.

He says fears of the U.S. losing any agricultural gains made in the original NAFTA with the renegotiation are unfounded.

Stumo expects any deal on the NAFTA renegotiation will take some time, at least more than a year.

President Trump’s Chief Economic Advisor Gary Cohn says NAFTA needs to be reformed to help protect American workers and create more jobs at home.
