Recently the Biden administration released its review of the U.S. trade agreement with China. And now U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai has been following up with meetings with the Chinese over U.S. trade concerns. Included in that is the U.S. concerned with China’s state led non market policies and non market practices that harm U.S. agriculture., and business workers. Coalition for a Prosperous America’s CEO Michael Stumo says he’s glad the USTR is not taking a soft stance with the Chinese.
He says the Biden administration is putting too much faith into working with other country’s as allies against China but doesn’t think that’s a good idea.
T
Stumo is hoping the USTR will focus more on U.S national interests with any trade deal as well as with China.
Tai believes there are many lingering phase one issues with China and is continuing her analysis of the deal and where the US.. should go.
