The University of South Dakota scored a pair of basketball wins Sunday with the Coyote women at home and the USD men on the road.
. – Raeshel Contreras scored a career-high 29 points as the South Dakota women’s basketball team overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to top North Dakota 86-81 in the DakotaDome on Sunday afternoon.
The Coyotes (9-2) flipped the script on last season’s matchup in Grand Forks when North Dakota (8-4) overcame a nine-point deficit to top USD 65-61. South Dakota trailed 46-37 at halftime on Sunday before outscoring UND 49-35 in the second half.
Tyler Larson scored six of his team-high 15 points in the final two minutes in leading South Dakota to a 67-62 win against Montana Sunday at Dahlberg Arena. It was the first meeting between the programs in 43 years. South Dakota swept Montana State and Montana in a four-day span to improve to 5-8.
The Coyotes rallied from a 10-point deficit with 11 minutes remaining to earn their third true road win of the season. South Dakota trailed 62-59 with four minutes left, but outscored the Griz 8-0 from that point forward.
