University of South Dakota basketball teams scored a pair of road wins on Sunday.

Raeshel Contreras scored a season-high 27 points as the USD women scored six points in the final 15 seconds to top Marquette 69-65 in the Al McGuire Center.

South Dakota guard Brandon Bos scored 16 of his game-high 21 points in the second half in helping the USD men win a 68-66 contest against Bakersfield Sunday at Icardo Center. Bos has scored 20 points or more in three of his last four games.

South Dakota (4-2) trailed 65-63 after Marquette’s (2-4) Kenisha Bell scored on a layup with 24 seconds remaining. After a USD timeout, Tia Hemiller tied the game on a layup with 12 seconds left before Contreras was fouled after stealing the ensuing inbounds pass with 11 seconds remaining. Contreras converted on both free throw attempts to give USD a 67-65 lead.

Hemiller added the final two points of the game off a pair of free throws with two seconds remaining. She was fouled after grabbing a defensive rebound off a missed shot from MU’s Arlesia Morse.

South Dakota (2-5) overcame a 15-point second-half deficit to win its second men’s game in a row. Casey Kasperbauer scored a season-high 18 points in earning his second start of the season. His fourth 3-pointer of the game completed a 9-0 run that gave USD a 65-61 lead with 1:23 remaining. Kasperbauer was 4 of 8 from beyond the arc.
