Saturday’s basketball doubleheader at the Dakota Dome produced a win for the South Dakota women and a loss for the Coyote men.
Senior guard Nicole Seekamp scored a season-high 26 points to lead the Coyotes to an 82-76 win against Omaha.
The Coyotes (11-5, 2-1 Summit) improved to 7-1 against their former NCC rival since both teams joined the Summit League. South Dakota also moved to 6-1 at home this season. Omaha (9-7, 2-2) lost to both South Dakota programs this week after starting 2-0 in conference play.
Omaha men fought back from a 21-point deficit in the second half to beat South Dakota 79-73 and remain unbeaten in the Summit League at 4-0. Tra-Deon Hollins scored a game-high 17 points and Devin Patterson added 16 for Omaha (12-6), which has won its last six.
Shy McClelland scored 15 points and Tre Burnette had 14 for South Dakota (9-9, 1-3), which has lost its last three home games. Eric Robertson scored 13 points and D.J. Davis finished with 11.
