A road loss by the men Saturday following a home win by the women on Friday night left the University of South Dakota with a weekend basketball split.

Denver sophomore guard Brett Olson scored a career-high 30 points, teammate Jalen Love made a half-court shot at the first-half buzzer and the Pioneers committed five turnovers in a 75-67 win against South Dakota Saturday at Magness Arena.

Denver (12-11, 5-3 Summit) has won five of its last six and avenged a 59-54 loss to South Dakota back on Jan. 11. The Coyotes (9-14, 3-5) have lost their last five conference games after starting the year 3-0.

On the women’s side, four South Dakota starters scored at least 14 points and Kelly Stewart added eight points off the bench as the Coyotes opened the second half of Summit League play with an 88-67 win against Denver Friday inside the DakotaDome.

The Coyotes (12-11, 3-5 Summit) have won three of four to move one game back of third place Western Illinois and Fort Wayne. Denver (5-18, 3-5) has lost three in a row.
