The University of South Dakota women’s basketball team added a win and the Coyote men lost a nailbiter in a doubleheader Saturday in Vermillion.
South Dakota got a season-high 21 points from freshman Kate Liveringhouse and 19 points from senior Raeshel Contreras during a 93-70 win against Oral Roberts Saturday inside the DakotaDome.
The Coyotes (17-5, 7-2 Summit) improved to 10-0 at home and remain atop the Summit League standings. Oral Roberts (10-12, 4-5) has lost its last two following a season-long three-game win streak.
.Oral Roberts erased a 10-point halftime deficit and survived two close-range shots in the final seconds to defeat the South Dakota men 73-72 Saturday inside the DakotaDome.
Obi Emegano scored a game-high 24 points and Denell Henderson added 14 more, including two free throws with 23 seconds left that became the final points of the game to lead the Golden Eagles (12-10, 5-3 Summit). Brandon Bos and Casey Kasperbauer had 16 points each to pace the Coyotes (10-13, 4-5).
