. A home season opener against Northern State and road trips to Arkansas and Arizona highlight South Dakota’s 2014 fall soccer schedule announced Tuesday by head coach Mandy Green. The schedule features 20 regular season games, 10 home and 10 away, including games against the other eight Summit League members.

The Coyotes will look to the leadership of senior goalkeeper MacKenzie Viktor and the help of nine incoming freshmen to improve upon last year’s Summit League standings.

South Dakota will play an exhibition match at home against Viterbo on Aug. 16. Regular season kicks off during move-in weekend as the Coyotes face Northern State on Aug. 22 and the College of St. Mary’s on Aug. 24.

The Coyotes will be on the road for the following two weekends as they head south for four games. South Dakota will first travel to Little Rock, Ark., to play Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Aug. 29, then face Arkansas-Little Rock two days later. On Sept. 5, the women will play Grand Canyon in Phoenix, Ariz., before heading north to play Northern Arizona in Flagstaff on Sept. 7.

South Dakota returns home for a three-game stretch against Wyoming, Creighton and North Dakota. Two away games against Northern Iowa and Drake will finish off their non-conference schedule.

Summit League play kicks off at home against Omaha on Oct. 3. In addition to Omaha, the Coyotes will host Fort Wayne (Oct. 5), North Dakota State (Oct. 12) and South Dakota State (Oct. 24) in league play.

The top four teams in regular season play will advance to the Summit League Tournament, scheduled for Nov. 7-9 in Denver, Colo.
