Wyoming senior striker Anne Hinman put away the lone goal and the Cowgirls held South Dakota scoreless in exhibition action Friday night at Lloyd Wilson Field.

Hinman scored the game-winner in the 14th minute by firing a shot off the low right of the net. It was Hinman’s only shot of the night.

The Cowgirls outshot the Coyotes 9-6 with eight of their opportunities coming in the first half. Junior goalkeeper Sydney Hardin tallied two saves and the Coyote back line limited Wyoming to one shot in the second half.

Senior striker Corey Strang, a two-time all-Summit honoree, fired off three shots in 31 minutes of action. Freshman striker Taryn LaBree added two more to the Coyotes’ tally and freshman defender Miranda Swift took the sixth shot for the Coyotes.

South Dakota utilized the exhibition’s unlimited substitutions to enter 23 Coyotes into the match.

South Dakota debuts the First Bank & Trust Soccer Complex in the regular season opener against Idaho at 4 p.m. Aug. 19.
