South Dakota’s big three combined to score 53 points and Tre Burnette pulled down 16 rebounds and scored 10 points as the Coyotes beat Oral Roberts 83-70 Saturday at Mabee Center.
It was the second road win in three days for South Dakota (13-14, 7-6 Summit), which has eight true road victories this season – sixth-most in the nation. The bad news is that the Coyotes are out of road games. The team will play its final four contests at home inside the DakotaDome starting with non-conference foe Avila Tuesday.
Casey Kasperbauer scored 20 points, Tyler Larson had 19 points and Brandon Bos added 14 for South Dakota, which avenged a one-point loss to Oral Roberts two weeks ago. The trio combined to make 17 of 27 shots including 6 of 8 three-pointers. South Dakota shot a season-best 55.6 percent from the field.
Oral Roberts (14-12, 7-5) got 19 points from Obi Emegano and 11 from Korey Billbury, but those two combined to make 11 of 35 from the field. Darian Harris made half of the Golden Eagles’ six triples and totaled nine points. Denell Henderson had nine points and six boards off the bench.
